Like I've said multiple times before, I love going here every year.
It's about a 45 minute drive from our cabin (which is about 45 minutes outside of Yakima itself.) So definately close enough to make it worthwhile.
Saturday morning we packed up, raincoats and all, and headed toward Packwood. Afterall, every other time I've been there, it's poured down rain.
This time; however, we were very greatful to see sunshine greeting us as we entered the little town.
This road goes through pretty much the whole town. And lining the road on each side are miles and miles of booths.
Some of the booths have common items, like the T-shirt booth I talked about last year, and this booth that I like to visit to get cheap used books from.
But most of them are filled with junk. That's pretty much the only way I know how to describe it. But afterall, one person's junk is another one's treasure, right??
A ton of food is consumed at this thing as well. It's all pretty much what I like to classify as 'fair food.' You know, the stuff that's really good for you. Joel's favorite is probably the huge block of french fries you can get, and as you can see that if one place needs this many potatoes to feed everyone, they are probably the favorite of quite a few others as well.
We walked around for a while. We browsed what the little 'shops' had to offer. We found trinkets. We found clothing. We found movies, yard tools and kids toys. And we even found one of these, deciding that it was probably the most random thing we could find. Afterall, everybody needs one of these in their bathroom . . .
And speaking of random things, it's not every day you get to see a sight like this either . . .
Yep, that's a man feeding his parrot a corn dog. Classy, huh?
Unfortunately, as we continued to browse, the sky turned from a beautiful sunny day to this . . .
And it began to pour. Hard. And completly out of nowhere, really. This picture shows it the best I think, as well as poor Kelsey who was stuck in another booth across the way. It managed to come that quick.
But not much stops this crew from a shopping experience, so as the rain lightened up a bit (but definately did not stop for a while), we continued to browse, in hopes to find some more treasures.
In the end we found a few things, and overall we had, yet again, another great experience. Until next year, Packwood . . .

I was there! I have NO idea how I landed on this blog post of yours, but I was there, too :) I've been going every year, twice a year, for a long time! That random downpour was so ridiculous! We had JUST decided to leave our umbrellas in the car when the clouds rolled in. So excited to head up there again this weekend, and looking forward to better weather!
