Fishing Adventures

We traveled back at the cabin again over the weekend.

My goal is to get up there as much as possible this year. For the last few summers, it has been used maybe once or twice the entire season. This seems silly to me. Aside from food and gas, it doesn't cost anything to go up there, and is essentially a free way to get out of town (as we would probably be spending money eating out anyway staying here :)

So why not spend as much time there as possible? It's a way to get out of town. You can relax and not do much, or keep yourself busy, whichever you prefer.

So far we have been making fairly good use out of it. Seeing that I work every other weekend, we can only go on the off weekends. But for the last four weeks, we have taken advantage of those off weekends, and already have trips planned for the next 4 weeks-worth.

This last weekend was spent with Tommy and Terra. The four of us had a great time, and did a lot of fishing. I haven't been fishing for I don't know how long, years at least, and had forgotten how much I love it! Although we only caught 8 fish the entire weekend, we had a great time.

We went up Friday morning, and after quickly unpacking, traveled immediately over to Clear Lake (a lake about 15 minutes away from the cabin). Although our cabin is on a lake, without a boat to get you into the middle of it (which we don't have), the luck of catching something off of the dock in the cove is slim. By traveling to Clear Lake, which is much more open, we had a much better chance. Nevermind that it's absolutely beautiful.

So once we get everything put together . . .

. . . we headed out on our little adventure.

Overall, it was a successful, fun day, and they even tasted good in the end.
