Congratulations Jordan!

On a Friday night, 3 weeks ago, we celebrated Joel's youngest brother, Jordan's, graduation from high school.

Last night, the festivities continued, with a party for him. The night consisted of lots of visiting, great food, swimming, and some poker.











Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get any pictures of the poker portion of the night . . . I was a little occupied.

One of the highlights of the night; however, was a slip and slide, which provided lots of entertainment:

As you can see, even Joel managed to have a good time with it.

Overall, we had a great time!

Guilty Pleasures

Growing up, I watched quite a bit of television. In all honestly, I still do. . . I'm not really a movie person, and I'm trying to get more into reading, but I can almost always find something on tv that sparks my interest. Probably not the best and most productive way to pass my time, but hey. . .

I'll watch almost anything. I fully admit to calling myself a 'reality junkie,' comedy shows are entertaining, and drama's tend to fill our DVR as well (we are big Desperate Housewives fans).

But then there are what I consider my 'guilty pleasures.' Pretty much all of them are shows that I grew up watching, but I am slightly embarassed to admit to watching, as most 23 year old people don't tend to think twice about them anymore.

One show; however, I am not embarassed to admit that I truly enjoy. I would probably classify it as my favorite tv show of all time, and it probably will forever hold that title.

Those of you who know me well can probably guess what this show is. I own every season on DVD, and do still watch them occasionally.

Full House

Yes, I admit that Full House is my favorite show of all time. I know every episode, and can normally identify it within a few seconds of it beginning. I could probably score fairly high on a trivia test. I could probably even quote half of the episodes.

I'm honestly not sure what it is about the show, but I've always loved it. I love stepping into the lives of DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle, and to day-dream about living in their 'perfect' family. When their biggest dilemma is how to cover up a broken nose for a school picture, starting kindergarden for the first time, or which family member to bring to a beach boys concert.

So now you know, a random fact about me: when I have nothing productive to do, or cannot find anything else to watch, you will probably find me sitting here, re-living my childhood days with a good old episode of Full House.

It's a Party!

Saturday, June 12th was a busy day in our house.

It was a day that we had been busy working toward: busy cleaning, busy organizing, and busy shopping for.

On this day, it all came together, and we celebrated by throwing a housewarming party.

It began the night before, spending the evening with large shopping trips to Costco and Winco, and a lot of 'prep' work.

I honestly don't think I've ever cut so much celery in my life.

The next morning began early: finishing last minute touch-ups, vaccuming, and preparing for our first event of the day: a wedding shower for my good friend Megan.

The shower went without flaws, and we had a good time.





After the shower, we got busy putting out the second round of food, getting ready for our housewarming party.


We had a great time at the party. My only regret was that I didn't get to talk to everyone more!

Overall, it was a really good day, and I thank everyone for coming!

So let me tell you something: I am an extremely lucky person.

Why, do you ask?

Well: not only do I have the best mom (see previous post), but I have the best dad in the entire world too!

How can one person be so lucky as to get both the best mom AND dad in the entire world?!

I love my dad. I love him because he is an exceptionally caring person. Because he always looks out for me: if anyone manages to do anything remotly suspicious, that police / protective dad face comes on in an instant and he is there. Because we have exactly the same sense of humor, and we giggle about the weirdest things sometimes. Because he cares about what is going on in my life, and how he can help to make it better.

I, really do, love my dad.

So, to honor him on Father's Day, I thought that I would share a series of pictures with you. A series of that make me laugh, make me smile, and make me truly appreciate my dad.

Flowers

I've been busy trying to play landscaper and buying tons of flowers, plants, and giant pots.

All of this so that I can get my yard to look somewhat decent.

Although I've realized I'm not very good at this landscaping business, I'm kind of having fun picking and choosing flowers I like.

Memorial Day Weekend

I apologize to my few faithful readers that I made you wait so long for a new post.

As one put it, 'Where's the new stuff? 'Grass' is getting boring.'

Moral of the story: I will try to be better.

For Memorial Day, I was lucky to have the weekend off. When I realized this, I was very excited to be able to go to Packwood to their bi-annual 'flea-market.' I don't honestly know that this is what it's called, but that's what it is to me. For Memorial Day and Labor Day, the streets of Packwood are filled with endless booths full of basically: junk. It's pretty much like a giant yard sale, filled with treasures that you sometimes really have to look hard to find. But once you do, you end up getting a great deal!

The rankings of my top favorite booths this year?

The $1 T-shirt booth. This is, and always will be, my favorite. Lined on the tables are piles and piles of T-shirts. All for $1. They are all T-shirts for events that you've never heard of, but that's what makes it all the better. For example, ranking highest on my favorite shirt this year is a 'Rib Feast' T-shirt. Where this rib feast occured, I have no idea, but I wear a shirt supporting it.

They make for great workout, work around the house, or just lounge around in T-shirts. All for only $1.

Also ranking high on my list this year was the book booth, as I have really been into reading lately, and the $5 DVD's.

So to get to this great event, we left Thursday afternoon. Our friends, Tommy and Terra's parents have a campsite near Packwood, so we began our adventures there.

And let me say, we had an amazing time.

It was the first time I slept in a tent, and although it poured down rain on us the entire weekend, I absolutely loved it!




It is only while camping that you can sit around in your pajamas all day, do absolutely nothing, and eat massive amounts of food while working none of it off throughout the day.

And that's exactly what I did all weekend.

It was a great break from reality, and we had a blast.






On Saturday night, we ventured over to my grandparent's cabin on Rimrock Lake. The weekend adventures carried on, and we continued to have a blast eating even more food, playing millions of card games, reading by the fire, and relaxing in general.
