Meet Roxy . . .

Meet Roxy.

Also known as "Tommy and Terra's new puppy" . . .

. . . or as "Westin's new best friend."

Roxy came to visit Westin and I for the first time yesterday . . .

. . . where she made herself right at home.

Luckily Westin was in a "sharing-type" of mood . . .

. . . so neither of us minded in the least.

She's definately the cutest new puppy in town!

Welcome to the family Roxy!

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving 2010 was full of amazing food, some football, great friends and family, and lots of full bellies.

This year's dinner marked the first full-cooked meal for my mom to make in her brand new kitchen. You see, they have been remodeling for the past many months, and the kitchen was done just in time for the feast. The only downfall to using new appliances for the first time when cooking for so many people is the fact that they may not work 100%. Because of this, part of our Thanksgiving was spent trying to figure out how to get the oven to actually warm the food . . .

Luckily, the food was warm for the most part, and we were able to enjoy everything.

While my mom spent her time in the kitchen, my dad ended up spending his time here, as he has been down with a nasty cold bug for almost a week . . .

. . . but is fortunately feeling a lot better now.

Overall, it was a great Thanksgiving . . .

Now, let the Christmas festivities begin!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

The first snow of the season has hit hard this year . . .

I absolutely love the snow! But, I am not so much of a fan of driving in it. My car does not do great, and I end up sliding around more than anything.

So when I was at work last night and the snow starting coming down, I was a little hesitant about how I was going to get home. Afterall, we are a little farther away than we were last year . . .

But I braved it, and managed to make my way home in one piece. I was quite proud of myself, to tell you the truth, as I normally don't do well at all. It sounds like I made it home just in time too, as the snow is coming down just as hard as when it started, and doesn't look like it's going to let up any time soon. I've heard stories and stories of how bad the roads are at this point, and it sounds like the city is slowly starting to shut down.

Even though it makes it a little trickier getting anywhere, I am still in love with the snow! Because of it, I have managed to talk Joel into staying home this evening and decorating our Christmas trees (I'm shooting for 5 this year).

I've had my Christmas candles burning all day, and am looking forward to a cozy evening of Christmas music, movies, hot chocolate, decorations, and the blizzard outside.

The Shower

After re-reading my last post, I realize it sounds kind of depressing.

Which couldn't be farther from the truth.

It was just some random thoughts on my mind is all.

But because it seemed to have come across a tad bit that way, let me bring a happier note in and tell you about my amazing shower.

My bridal shower, that is . . .

I cannot believe how lucky I am to have such generous friends and family! A special thanks to these two:
for putting together such a beautiful shower! We were very spoiled in the end, and I had a great time! See for yourself . . .

Some Wedding Thoughts

Well, it's true . . . we have been in full wedding mode lately.

Afterall, according to our registry, there are only 42 days until our wedding.

That's not very many.

Because of this, this wedding has managed to seep its way into everything I do lately.

Don't get me wrong, I am having a blast planning everything. I absolutely love weddings, so I am in my prime at this point.

I am trying to live in the moment and enjoy everything, since this will be the one and only time I'll be able to plan my own wedding.

But I do have to honestly admit that I'm starting to become a tad bit stressed.

Everywhere I go my eye is looking out for something that could be used for the wedding.

Anything that is black or white screams out at me.

Not to mention thank goodness for Hobby Lobby (probably my new favorite store) for having half of the things we've been searching endlessly for.

I am becoming terrified I'm going to miss something fairly important. I'm not sure what it is yet, but I'm sure there will be something . . .

But I keep telling myself that at least we will be there, and dressed for that matter, so that's all that really matters . . .

. . . right?

So we are trecking along, trying to get everything done, and not forget anything in the process.

I truly appreciate everyone's help and kindness that have contributed everything.

And I do have to give a special thank you to my mom, who has been helping me a ton with everything. Without her, I definately would have fallen apart by this point.

So my goal is to continue to enjoy myself, and not get too caught up in everything.

Because in 42 days, I will be getting married, regardless of who is there or what happens.

Sneek Peak

I apologize for the lack in posts lately. I won't go into excuses why, but will just say that things have been busy around here lately.

So because I still do not have a ton of time to sit and write a big long blog about, well anything right now, I figured I would give you a sneak peek into the future of what is to come . . .

Do we see a common theme here?
