Life Is Quite The Highway . . .

I know it's been a while since I've posted.

Life is definately passing by quickly lately.

I hardly see my husband. I could be over-exagerating this, but really. We will go days with only seeing eachother for about five minutes a day, if even at all. As I get home from work, he is leaving, and I leave again in the evening before he is home. We sometimes manage to catch up on what's going on in our lives with a phone call to and from places, and that's only if I'm lucky enough to catch him between phone calls to his customers.

And the days we DO manage to be able to spend together, we manage to find some friends to make plans with, or find something that needs to be done around the house.

Not that getting things done and spending time with friends is a bad thing. I'm very thankful to have the friends I do to spend time with. I'm just saying . . .

This is the time of the year when I go into my 'woe is me' fit, when I get frustrated that I'm going to work and sleeping through the beautiful weather and all of the fun activities that accompany it. Dedicating two weekends a month to working manages to limit the 'play' time a little more than I like sometimes.

Thank goodness a lot of my friends have the same crazy schedules that I do, so that we can spend time together on a random Tuesday or Wednesday.

But I did not intend this to be a 'woe is me' kind of post.

I am thankful to even have a job, and one that I love on top of it.

I keep reminding myself that while others are spending time outside, I am spending my time bringing babies into the world.

Afterall, who is lucky enough to have a job that makes such a big impact in someone's life?!

I do, and it's really a pretty cool thing.

So . . . I do have a lot of things to post about, I just haven't managed to find the time to sit down and do it.

It's coming though, I promise. So stick with me.

A Hiking We Will Go

While I took a much needed nap, Joel and Kelsey decided to venture out for a little hike.

One of the things that I love most about going to the cabin is the scenery that surrounds it. It's hard to find somewhere that isn't simply beautiful to look at.

A Lovely Drive Home

Our trip back to the cabin made me partially feel like I was traveling through a winter wonderland. In the middle of May.

But nonetheless beautiful the entire time.

Packwood Flea Market

Like I've said multiple times before, I love going here every year.

It's about a 45 minute drive from our cabin (which is about 45 minutes outside of Yakima itself.) So definately close enough to make it worthwhile.

Saturday morning we packed up, raincoats and all, and headed toward Packwood. Afterall, every other time I've been there, it's poured down rain.

This time; however, we were very greatful to see sunshine greeting us as we entered the little town.

This road goes through pretty much the whole town. And lining the road on each side are miles and miles of booths.

Some of the booths have common items, like the T-shirt booth I talked about last year, and this booth that I like to visit to get cheap used books from.

But most of them are filled with junk. That's pretty much the only way I know how to describe it. But afterall, one person's junk is another one's treasure, right??

A ton of food is consumed at this thing as well. It's all pretty much what I like to classify as 'fair food.' You know, the stuff that's really good for you. Joel's favorite is probably the huge block of french fries you can get, and as you can see that if one place needs this many potatoes to feed everyone, they are probably the favorite of quite a few others as well.

We walked around for a while. We browsed what the little 'shops' had to offer. We found trinkets. We found clothing. We found movies, yard tools and kids toys. And we even found one of these, deciding that it was probably the most random thing we could find. Afterall, everybody needs one of these in their bathroom . . .

And speaking of random things, it's not every day you get to see a sight like this either . . .

Yep, that's a man feeding his parrot a corn dog. Classy, huh?

Unfortunately, as we continued to browse, the sky turned from a beautiful sunny day to this . . .

And it began to pour. Hard. And completly out of nowhere, really. This picture shows it the best I think, as well as poor Kelsey who was stuck in another booth across the way. It managed to come that quick.

But not much stops this crew from a shopping experience, so as the rain lightened up a bit (but definately did not stop for a while), we continued to browse, in hopes to find some more treasures.

In the end we found a few things, and overall we had, yet again, another great experience. Until next year, Packwood . . .

Memorial Day 2011

Remember last year's post about our Memorial Day Weekend festivities?

Well this year's plans seemed to have a very common theme. I think I see a tradition in the making . . .

Once again, we spent an awesome weekend at the cabin. And once again visited the fabulous Packwood Flea Market.

We had fun playing games . . .

Spending time on the iPad . . .

Enjoying the scenery . . .

And adventuring on a hike.

All in all, a great weekend!

White Water Rafting . . . Part II

The pictures have arrived.

I think it's cool that these companies do this . . . sure it's just another way to get money, but there is no way we could have gotten these kinds of pictures any other way. Somebody was definately thinking . . .

Anyway, I put them in the order they were taken. There's kind of a lot, but this way you can pretty much see us going over one of the waves second by second. . .

And we made it!

My Turn!

My 24th birthday fell last Friday, the 20th.

This year I celebrated my actual birthday by going to work. It may not sound like much fun, but thanks to my awesome co-workers and them bringing me awesome cakes, I had a great time.

Monday night we were able to celebrate with our families. A dinner at Red Robin was delicious, and I was spoiled, once again, with some wonderful gifts.
